Born and raised in North Carolina, Shannon Neal has over twenty years experience in the furniture/home furnishings industry. A former International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Shannon traveled the globe promoting North Carolina products. His work establishing agent, distributor, importer, and retailer contacts took him to U.S. embassies and consulates in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Japan… to name but a few. As the Director of Operations for the state of NC International Trade Division and as Director of the NC Furniture Export Office, Shannon again traveled the world promoting his home state’s furniture and furnishings.

Happily married for over two decades and living in a home full of wonderful family antiques, Shannon experienced an epiphany at age 40 and decided to start over. “My future was not another twenty years retiring as a bureaucrat,” says Shannon. “Instead, I wanted to help others discover the treasures I knew were right here—from any type of home furnishing to all the great restaurants, places to stay, and the friendly people and quality of life this area offers.”

Since 2005, Where You Need To Go Tours has offered affordable white glove concierge shopping services to domestic and international clients.
